Sunday Worship Times!
Join us … you are welcome by all!
We worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00 – it’s our chance to gather with one another, to praise God, to pray together, to sing together, and hear God together. Worship is at the heart of HUMC.
Our worship is a ‘blended’ style – it combines traditional liturgy and informal response, hymns and more contemporary songs. Our worship draws on our rich tradition and embraces emerging practices. It reflects who we are a s a church – a diverse people from man generations, seeing to live and serve together.
After worship, stick around and join us for fellowship over coffee and snacks. You are welcome to visit in the Fellowship hall, or join us around the tables in the Narthex for the Pastor’s Forum- a chance to discuss that day’s message or anything else of interest that comes up with Pastor Clay.
My hope and prayer of our congregation is that we continue to follow where God leads, do what God calls us to do and to trust that God will be with us. We welcome you, and we hope you find a family at Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
~ Clay
Worship is open to everyone. The sanctuary is wheelchair accessible from the front entrance. We have large print bulletins, hymnals and bibles available. Listening devices are also available. Children are always welcome to remain in worship with nursery care and children’s programs also available. Dress as you like, as casually or formal as you prefer.
Communion is open to everyone and is offered the first Sunday of each month as well as special services throughout the year. We use bread and grape juice with gluten free bread available. We serve by intinction, offering our hands in the sign of a cross. A piece of bread is torn off by the server, then the recipient dips the bread into the juice goblet then ingests both elements together.
Candles are available to light at the rear of the sanctuary. Padded pews fill the sanctuary with couches, rockers and chairs available in the fireside room at the rear of the sanctuary as well.
It is our tradition to join hands as we sing the closing song at the end of worship.
Join us after worship in the Fellowship Hall for coffee, tea or punch and snacks to visit with others, and sign up for service opportunities.
After grabbing a drink and a snack, the Pastor’s Forum meets at the tables in the entry way Narthex to discuss the sermon or anything else of interest each week.
