Welcome to Hillsboro United Methodist Church! If you are searching for deeper meaning in your life that includes lasting relationships, spiritual growth and service to the world you have come to the right place. We offer a safe place in which to ponder important life questions within an atmosphere of support. Our hearts, our minds and our doors are open. Our Sunday morning activities for children include a small group class at 9:00 am for 4th - 6th graders and a mid-worship class, Lift Off! for those 4 years old through third grade.
The 4th - 6th grade class gathers at 9:00 am each Sunday morning. The theme each week is related to the themes that will be explored later that day in worship. We are committed, at this age, to studying together, learning to serve our community and to becoming friends. Our learning often includes hands-on projects and lots of discussion. We are committed to learning to be Jesus' hands, feet and heart in the world!
In the Lift Off! class we learn through stories, crafts and play. This class meets after the Story Time during the service most Sundays, except for the first Sunday of each month and on occasional other special Sundays. Children are directed to the class during the service. Our focus in Lift Off! is on learning about ourselves and our neighbors and on understanding ourselves as wonderfully made in God's image!
Nursery Ministry The Family Room
Audrey Proux, our professional nursery teacher/caretaker, welcomes our youngest children (ages 3 and under) into her bright, beautiful, loving world. Our focus in the nursery is to provide a welcoming, safe, nurturing and fun space for young children and to show them God's love through our words and our actions. Security is a high priority in the nursery and all volunteers are screened, background-checked and have received our Safe Sanctuary training. Parents are always welcome in this space and audio reception of the service is provided for their convenience.
Special Family Sundays
During Advent and Lent we have a series of several special Family Sundays where families are invited to come to class together at 9:00 am for some intergenerational learning. Story time, crafts, music and devotions help family members take time to further their faith while participating together. Watch the Spire for information about when those gatherings will occur.
