UMW Book Group
Reading and discussing interesting, timely, topical, and inspirational selections This group read books from the UMW library (located in the Parlor). The selections are interesting, timely, topical, and inspirational, and chosen by the group each month. Dinner and a movie with friends, monthly. The Movie Group meets the last Saturday of each month to enjoy a movie followed by dinner & fellowship. Movies, times and locations are determined by email votes the last full week of the month, always at either Regal Movies on TV in Hillsboro or Evergreen Parkway theater in Tanasbourne. Moving? Nope. Join us on Sunday mornings as we playfully, faithfully explore Scripture together. Godly Play materials are designed for children ages kindergarten through 5th grade. On Sunday mornings, the children gather on the stage in the Fellowship Hall following the Singing Time to explore scripture and spiritual life through storytelling and creative play. This spring we are studying the life of Jesus and his appearances after the resurrection.

Offering comfort and support for those in need through handmade shawls A group of HUMC folks regularly create "prayer shawls" to give to people experiencing illness, grief or other trauma, or in any way are in need of comfort and prayer. The shawls are made by knitters and crocheters in their homes who also gather quarterly at the church on the fifth Monday of the month at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room. On the first Wednesday of each month from September through June, the United Methodist Women meet for their monthly "unit meeting". Each month features a program with a special guest speaker. On September 6, our special guest Donna Waltman portrays Clementina Butler who pursued her dream of having a female doctor come to India to treat women and girls.
