Purpose
- The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Calendar of Scheduled Unit Meetings and Program Topics

The Hillsboro unit of United Methodist Women meets monthly from September through April, with special events in May and June. Meetings are held at the church, except as noted, on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m., beginning with coffee. Upcoming programs include these:
- April 4: "Philosophy of Education in the Hillsboro School District" presented by Dr. Jeremy Lyon, Superintendent of the Hillsboro School District.
- May 2: Annual Mothers & Others Dessert, 6:30 p.m., with guest speaker Rev. Vern Groves presenting "Why My Grandchildren Are Elephents".
- June 6: Ladies Lunch Out at 11:30. Place to be announced.
- Sept. 5: Welcome Back Tea with the program "Reflections on Oregon Governance" by Oregon State Representative Chuck Rileypresented by the Rev. Jane Shafer.
- Oct. 3: "Honduras Mission Adventures" presented by the Rev. Dan Wilson-Fey.
- Nov. 7: "Great Reads", a review of the Reading Program Books coordinated by Linda Clarkson.
- Dec. 5: "Improvisational Christmas" directed by Melinda Strobel.
Three circles, smaller groups for fellowship and study, also meet monthly.
- Love Circle meets the second Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. Chairperson: Linda Clarkson. 503-640-5564.
- Miriam Circle meets the second Wednesday at 9:30. Chairperson: Marlene Leffel, 503-648-2742.
- Faith Circle meets Third Tuesdays at 1:30 in members' homes. Co-chairs:
- Betty Alexander, 503-648-0005, and Deanna Chappell, 503-693-8213.
