The Wesleyan Class Meeting is a Methodist spiritual practice dating back to the beginnings of the movement and to John Wesley himself, who considered it to be one of the very roots that enables our faith to grow. Each week we meet to invite each other into our lives, giving testimony to our experiences of God during the past week. Sometimes that testimony takes the form of celebration and praise, sometimes it’s a soul-deep “Why?” or “Where?” And this is HUMC, of course, so sometimes it’s funny stories and much laughter! Our purpose is always to deepen our experience of the divine presence in all of creation, and to support each other no matter where we are in the journey.
This is a welcoming group and no preparation or prior experience with Class Meeting is needed to participate fully. If you’re curious about the class and just want to give it a try for a few weeks, please join us! Our normal meeting time is 6:30pm in the Narthex.
