Small Groups

Small groups are a great way to build closer relationships with members of our congregation.  We offer a variety of options, from Bible Studies, to Prayer Groups to Fellowship Gatherings.

To learn more about any of these opportunities, contact the church office at office@hillsboroumc.org.  We’ll get you the details including dates, times and locations, as well as contact information for group leaders.

Game Night

United Methodism For A New Day

Pastor Rhett will teach a six-week class on United Methodism beginning at 6:00 pm on Monday, September 8. You're encouraged to bring a dish/snack to share as we gather. "Covered Dish" is core vocabulary for United Methodists!

We will use Dr. Ashley Boggan's Wesleyan Vile-tality as our text. You can order a copy for yourself online or a copy can be ordered through the church office. This reading will inform our weekly discussion.

The fourth Friday of each month is our Game Night. We meet from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the Fireside Room and Fellowship Hall. There are video games, board games and card games available for players young and old. We have games available or bring your favorite with you. There are also snack foods to share. Contact Perry for more information. We hope to see you there!

Women of Faith is a shared leadership, women’s book study group that meets from 10:00-11:30 on Tuesdays in the parlor. We generally read 3-4 books each year. You are welcome to join us for as little or as many meetings as you wish—we all lead busy lives and do not expect perfect attendance. Our Fall study will begin on September 16 with the book Jesus and Buddha: The Parallel Sayings by Marcus Borg and Jack Kornfield. The books will be available in the church office beforehand, or you can pick one up at the first meeting. The price is 15.95, payable to the church. Payment is always optional—it helps offset the cost of the books, but is not required. We never want the book price to be a burden, or a limiting factor in your decision to join us! Contact Linda Clarkson for more information.

Women of Faith

What a better way to connect with old friends and make new friends than over ice cream! We meet at 1:00 pm on the first Friday of the month. The location switches between the homes of two of our families with mobility challenges. (Contact the office to find the next meeting location.) Grab your favorite ice cream and join us for conversation and laughter!

Ice Cream Treaters

Come join the church family at Cornell Estates at 2:00 pm on the third Thursday each month (usually). Check the calendar for exact dates. We gather in the Cascade Room, which is on the second floor, on the right as you get off of the elevator. This is a time to share meaningful conversations, memories, laughter, a devotion and snacks.
